What is Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapy (BCST) ?

Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on therapy for the whole body that originated in osteopathy. BCST has evolved since its origination to include influences from human development, pre and peri-natal psychology, trauma resolution, and recent advances in neuroscience. BCST supports nervous system regulation and allows the resolution of conditions resulting from stress and trauma.

The treatment is done on a massage table with the client fully clothed. The practitioner’s touch is light and still.

The session’s focus is to support the inherent health of the whole person, especially the nervous system, which dictates all of the body’s functioning.  When the nervous system is in optimum condition, there is a palpable sense of relaxation, peace and wellbeing at all levels.

BCST practitioners understand how an optimally functioning, healthy nervous system performs. We are trained for years on how to use acute perceptual skills to perceive subtle physiological changes and to track the tides of the cerebrospinal fluid in the nervous system. We are also acutely aware of the energetic map that underlies one’s basic health and symptomology. We believe that health is never lost no matter what symptoms or conditions may be present. We use our ability to identify the parts of the nervous system that are not functioning optimally and our awareness of the “always available health” in the body to assist the system in bringing itself back to balance. This supports greater integration and ease and helps the body, psyche and spirit regain and maintain optimal function.
